Chemical Peels in New Orleans, LA

Using the highest quality in chemical peel aesthetic treatments, Dr. Jules Walters provides patients with choices for a professional facial treatment with chemical solutions that give you smoother, healthier skin on the face. In our New Orleans, LA office, plastic surgeon Dr. Jules Walters offers chemical peel treatments that minimize skin flaws, including wrinkles, scars, fine lines, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels dissolve dead or damaged skin cells with a special solution on the skin that causes the visible layer to peel off. When your skin recovers and starts to repair and rejuvenate itself, you should see a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel facial is a nonsurgical option to make your complexion bright and may be used for the face, neck, and décollatage.

Exceeding Expectations Daily

I had a wonderful experience at the Modern with Robin. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable while she explained the Halo Laser peel. I am loving the results that I am seeing. Thanks also to Karen Maczewski for suggesting the peel at my last visit. I highly recommend Dr Walters and his skilled team! Thanks again, Cindy Finley

At your appointment, we will have you lying in a comfortable position to administer your treatment. Our aestheticians will ensure the skin is cleaned prior to applying the personalized solution to the treatment areas. We will massage the solution onto the skin and allow it to work for an appropriate length of time that will be determined in your chemical peel consultation. Finally, we will clean the peel off your skin and put on a neutralizing agent. Patients are encouraged to bring a hat to wear outside following the procedure to protect against environmental exposure.

Based on the level of the chemical peel you choose, you should expect the face to peel and itch from several days to two or more weeks. Dr. Walters or a member of his team will discuss methods to treat your face during your consultation. Please remember that no matter how badly your skin itches throughout the post-treatment process, it's not helpful to pick the skin off. You may create scarring on your delicate skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a chemical peel cost?

Dr. Walters or a member of his team can discuss your costs during your consultation as soon as your chemical peel treatment plan has been developed. Costs for a chemical peel may vary based on the level you choose. The Modern Plastic Surgery & Medspa takes many payment methods and may have current specials on facial treatments like chemical peels.

Should I get a chemical peel or dermabrasion treatment?

Both dermabrasion and chemical peels are facial treatments that treat surface irregularities to give your skin a softer appearance. The major difference is that dermabrasion requires surgical tools (i.e., a shaving instrument or rotating brush) to clear away the top layer of skin with a careful exfoliating process. A chemical peel uses a caustic solution applied to your skin to dissolve dead and damaged skin cells. During your initial consultation, Dr. Walters or a member of his team will go over the advantages of each treatment and help you choose whether dermabrasion or a chemical peel is better to achieve your needs and goals.

What level should I choose for my chemical peel?

The level of chemical peel that is best for you will vary based on your unique skin needs and cosmetic goals. During your initial consultation at The Modern, our team can help you decide which peel is best for your skin. A few factors you might consider are your overall health, the type of skin you have, the extent of your skin concerns, the time you can commit to recovery, and what you want the peel to accomplish. For your first peel, it's better to select a light chemical peel and see what you think of the results. After this, you and Dr. Walters or a member of his team might adjust your plan to discover the ideal chemical peel level for you.
